Hello, Friend - Fine to see ur mail the very next day. Oh!
What a great reply, just a week has passed by and your
response was extremely good and too on the hourly basis. You
surpassed my expectations. Today
there only very few persons who belong to their respective
subjects reply genuinely and positively depending upon the
case due to which they become celebrated in the due course
and stand out of others. Similar quality of your's shows the
quality of your's and also put you on par with such
celebrated persons. Very many thanks for provding a link to
my site from your site upon my request. I thought of
replying to you after changing the way my site looks so that
others don't strain to look, only after many persons advised
me to do besides your request. Now I have modified my
site slightly and then thought of sending a reply to you. My
wishes to your family and parents. Once again Thank You,
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You,..........,

Sir, I belong to Tirunelveli saiva pillai, son of retired
tahsildar subramanian (Tuticorin). I need this Web-material,
but I have only the debit card and not the credit card, I
wish to pay directly and collect the material. The web site
needs lot of improvement and user friendliness. I have a
dream project but unable to implement. (Tried, but
failed). If possible, prepare pakka chart and a corporation.
by raising this in Vellalar meeting, could achieve it. it is
as follows.
Formation of VOC City: (Tried, but failed)
1. City with only Pillai groups.
2. If 500 Peoples joins together, can achieve this.
3. I got a info that 1 acres for 50,000. (Total 10,000
acres)
4. 50 acres should be common for the city.
5. In which the following needs to be built
a. Theatre like mayajal in chennai
b. Snow world like in abirami in chennai
c. Restaurant
d. Children's park (Video games, computer center, swimming
pool, skating
ground, other playing materials
e. Kids zone
6. Temple
7. Gymnasium
8. Petrol Bunk
9. Garden like brindavan
10. Colonies
a) with Bio gas - electricity, gas
b) Solar street Lamp
c) Play ground and so many
And lot more... By doing this, the ground value will go up
and a city for pillai will be formed. ( 1000 acres will be
considered as a village, which will decide a MLA )
I can see lot of guys interested in developing our
community. can use them and lift them up. I am trying to
form a group where I got around 20 peoples said ok to buy
100 acres together. but I need more people. Pls
communicate in further towards it. we have many
rich/interested people in our community. need a head and
proper leadership. will proceed in further on seeing
ur reply. Rgds / Kailash

feedback: Hi All,
First this is great website for Saiva Pillais. I'm
hyrib by caste, Saiva Pillai (maternal) and
Kshathiryar (paternal) well my surname is match by
numerology. Anyway, there are a lot comments about
Pillai's here wearing poonul and not the warrior
caste. Well let me get the say of Tamil; Kalaan,
Marayen, Aagamudiyar, slowly Vellavar come. Meaning
is simple, when warrior clans, king urbanization
took place, they made Kalaan /marayen (thief and
smuggler)to be meaningful trader (Aagamudiyar) than
slow groom them into vellavar, very fine eusthic
people good in agriculture and domestic trade
counsel. Late the Pillai was divide into Saiva
Pillai like Appar and Chola Pillai, king's advisor.
The Saiva Pillais are regarded to be much devote to
Saiva God and held as high as the aryan brahim and
wear poonul. Pillai contribution was great like
Chimbaram Pillai and etc. The Saiva Pillai have been
given great respect and responsible in naturing the
Tamil culture.

hi! neat website! good going! i am researching
my family's ancestry.
i have been talking to my parents, and also checking out the
various websites.
we are vellala karkarthar saiva pillais.
mummy is from coimbatore and vriddhachalam, and papa is from
thanjavur, originally.
what i came across has kinda confused me.
my parents say we are non-brahmins, coming below the
brahmins, and above all other castes. another website says
we are similar to brahmins, except for the temple puja
duties. so, are we brahmins or what?
another friend of mine is from tirunelveli. he too is a
pillai. he says he had the thread ceremony. now, no one in
my family has had a thread ceremony to the best of my
knowledge. why is this difference?
papa says his paternal great grandfather (his father's
mother's father) was a chief minister in the court of king
chola, and he remembers seeing long swords which were family
heirlooms until a few years ago. now we have no clue where
they are.
these are the nuggets i have so far.
i am looking for someone who can fill in these gaps. and
clarify these doubts.
i live in new mumbai, by the way. and work as a clinical
psychologist. papa is an electronics engineer, now teaching
in engineering college here, post his voluntary retirement.
he is also the treasurer of the IETE (institution of
electronics and telecommunication engineers).
awaiting your reply at the earliest.
warm regards,
Hema. New Mumbai.
Our Answer to this Girls Email:
Hello Madam, Nice to meet
you on web.
It is true that we are below
Brahmins in the Aryan Varna System.
But it is also true that
Odhuvars, Kurukkalaiyas and Desikars are also part of
our Saiva Pillai community.
These Othuvars and Gurukkal
wear Poonul.
Also some other OBC castes
of tamilnadu wear Poonul like the Asari
So Poonul wearing is a kind
of acceptance of 2 life theory.
"Parppan" this word came
from "Parppu" - the chicken.
The chicken has 2 births.
One is as a Egg and another is as hatching of egg to
become a Hen/Cock.
So, we the age old
Dravidians, living in the Indus Valley to the Gangetic
Plains accepted the Aryans and started living with them.
But they wanted to maintain
their cultural identity as much as other castes do.
In India, castes are nothing
but an extension of old clan kingdoms.
Still now in North you see
the Yadavas are ruling.
Those days the Krishna
Yadava
Now the Mulayam Singh and
Lalloo.
So the clan mentality and
affiliation to clan - caste things are still a part of
indian mentality.
Coming back to our matter,
It is not important whether we are ABOVE or BELOW the
Brahmins.
It is whether we do our duty
properly or excel in them.
So, Caste is just a
reference. Just a remnant of the past.
We dont have Gothrams also.
Like the Brahmins do. Karkathars also have Gothram.
It is very clear from
ancient times that the Saiva Pillais are not a Warrior
Clan
Even though some Chola Kings
are from Pillai community, even though the Kerala
Vellalas are mostly chieftains.
Even though Marudha Nayakam
[Pillai] - the film Kamal liked to take - was a rebel
chieftain
So there are so many Kings
from Pillai caste that doesnt make our total caste as a
Warrior caste - the Kshatriyas.
We are by work, became a
Vaishya varna.
By doing the Clerk Duty -
the Kanakku Pillais, the Jameendhars, the Vellalas -
Farmers - the tillers
So our caste men used to
sport POT BELLIES from time immemorial - indicating the
sedentary life style.
We are a kind of White
Collar People - Managers. Not workers, not quiet
artisans.
We are thinkers, decision
makers, rebels.
Please read more insights
into the caste system of India in the following link
please feel free to contact

develop the saiva pillaimar community.
We have a couple of doubts regarding this registration.
The mail below does not mention any code no of
registration for our son. Could you please provide the
same.
Also, is there any code( or registration) no that we
will have to quote to make a online transfer of donation
through ICICI bank.
Please, do provide us with clarifications.
